In Class:
Before we create our own websites, we have to look at what makes a great site. We will start my creating a concept map, built around the theme: COMMUNITY. Each group will think about things in a community that feel positive and foster participation. Think about the school community and what helps people feel like they are a part of a school community, but also think about how an on-line community could replicate those same feelings and positive interactions virtually.
After investigating our own definitions of COMMUNITY, we will look at other websites and gather information on current styles of websites and decide what the advantages and disadvantages of these platforms.
Then we will reflect on our research and design our own website that helps build a positive on line community.
