It's been a busy week at Oakcrest. All of the students are busy testing and working hard. In light of all this work happening, the computers are in heavy rotation. So what is technology class to do?
ART!
That's right, since we can't use the technology ourselves, I thought it would be a great idea to see an artist who uses technology for his own artwork. This week we looked at an artist from Germany, Martin Kilmas.
Martin Kilmas uses high speed photography to capture fleeting moments as he drops objects, explodes flowers with an air gun, or plays music to make paint dance. His artwork is a collaboration between science, technology and beauty. "Exploding Flowers" is a set of pictures that show real flowers that were dipped in liquid nitrogen and then explored from a blast from an air gun. Martin captures the flowers at the moment they are transformed...or deconstructed.
